Science

How has your holiday been so far?

As discussed earlier in class, please go to Brainpop Jr to learn about heatand temperature. You can also go on to MC Online/ Science/ Lowerblock/ Energy-Heat and Temperature to learn on the topic. There are also practices for you to attempt.

Below are 2 questions for discussion:

Qn 1: Does fanning yourself on a hot day help you to cool yourself? If yes, why? If no, why?

Qn 2: When you hold a cube of ice in your palm, your hand feels cold. Has the cold travelled to your hand from the ice cube?

Do post your responses to the questions and we can discuss the various answers.

  5. Q1: Yes. When you are fanning, the wind moves faster than usual, 'creating' a slight breeze.

Q2: No. When you are holding the ice cube, the ice cube gains heat while your hand loses heat until the tempretures of your hand and ice cube is the same
